Two Must Reads For The Catholic Evangelist
Hello all…
I’m about to go to Tucson, to deliver comedy to a gala/dinner. My whole week has been quite swamped.
But before I leave, I want to draw attention to two blog posts that I consider to be mandatory reading for those who wish to understand Catholic evangelism.
Father Z’s Response to a Repentant Sinner
The first post is a simple response from a noted Catholic priest-blogger, who responds to a lost soul as to how to return to the faith–even considering her past grievous sins. It is one of the most beautiful responses to sharing God’s love, to someone who believes that she had done far too much wrong that there’s “no possible way God could love me.”
ASK FATHER: Three questions from a sinner who wants to come home.
14 Steps to a Perfect Youth Group Program
The second post are for those youth group evangelists. It is no secret that my heart goes out to those in high school, or those who are twenty-somethings, and finding a way to bridge the gap between the needs of their hearts with the full gospel of Christ. Part of the reason why I do what I do is purely for evangelism sake. I want youth and young adults to be awakened by the reality of God in their lives, and if it means I have to subject myself to the songs of the culture, to speak to a broader need, so be it.
But I’m just a performer, flying in one day for a major event, only to fly back home. This article is for those in the trenches. Those who are looking to find ways to have their youth group resonate. And not just resonate, but to prepare them for the majesty of worship that is in the liturgy of the Mass.
The Perfect Youth Group Program
That’s it for today. Your regularly scheduled programming will commence next week.
