Platform Conference Thoughts
This past week I went to the second ever Platform Conference, held in Dallas, TX.
This has been the brainchilds of Michael Hyatt (author of “Platform:Getting Noticed in a Noisy World”) and Ken Davis (comedian and keynote extraordinaire).
Among the speakers include Cliff Ravenscraft, Amy Porterfield, Derek Halpern, Ray Edwards, Jeff Goins, Lysa Terkeurst, Michelle Cushatt, and Stu McLaren. The purpose of the conference was to provide tools and inspiration for participants to expand our brand, to master the craft of getting our message out there in the most efficient and powerful way out there.
Mission accomplished.
For myself, in listening to the talks and in networking with the 150+ high-achieving participants (small group by design), I came to a crystalized understanding of what I need to do, and how to accomplish it. There will be a few significant changes to the podcast because of this, changes that I am utterly convinced would hone the passion I have in the myriad little ways out there.
My biggest desire is to provide the right tools for those who follow me, whether it be for their worship teams, their youth groups, or for daily living. Part of this is my comedy, part of this is my worship, part of this is my perspective on culture, and part of this is the recesses of my heart.
How this all crystallized was only the result of attending a conference like this; not merely from listening to the talks (and writing furious notes), but also through interaction with fellow sojourners in the journey, and learning from them.
Thank you, Platform Conference Team, for a most exceptional conference.
As an aside, there was a dance-off between two of the sessions. It was captured on film by Stacie Rollins. And yes, that’s me in the blue blazer.
Thank You for sharing your recap of thoughts from The Platform Conference! It was an awesome event and the amount of nuggets and takeaways insightful!!! Enjoyed meeting you and all the other great people who attended. Dive In!
