What Nick Can Do For You
Over the years people began to notice that Nick’s highly acclaimed live shows were taking on a unique shape, namely, that of each individual audience he was performing for. “I do a lot of communication with the leaders before I arrive for a show,” he explains, referring to his desire to take the audience’s challenges and spiritual needs into consideration before he sets foot on stage. Aside from that, he feels his way through it. In fact, some have observed that he has an uncanny ability to take the pulse of an audience and determine what they need.
“I may begin with parodies, tell a few stories, and then segue into other comedic things,” he explains. “At some point I might share a testimony and then transition in to worship. It truly never is the exact same show twice. Sometimes I may sense the audience needs to participate more, or that some folks need to hear a personal story of how God has manifested His power in my life. The bottom line is that I am there to serve the audience, not the other way around.”
Recently Nick’s ministry has expanded. Not long ago he was appointed as the youth ministry liaison for CAM, which isn’t surprising given his reputation for working with teens in an innovative way. He’s served as an artist/speaker-at-large for various youth groups, not only performing live shows but also leading worship and delivering keynote addresses with titles such as “Absolutes? Absolutely!” and “How to Remain Faithful in a Media Saturated Culture.” Though he converted to Catholicism many years ago and deeply loves the mystery and beauty of that tradition, his message is universal, which has resulted in a very broad and diverse audience. “One of my ministry goals is that of Christian unity,” he says.
