Positives: he’s doing something. He’s trying. He’s taking what appears to work in other denominations and using it in his own parish. He’s training people to evangelize. He’s preaching homilies that resonate and easier to remember. And I love the fact that he has employed the overhead screen.
Negatives: he has yet to figure out how to marry this with our Catholic culture, over centuries. He doesn’t appear to have an interest in the ancient treasures of the Church (hymns, chants, church architecture) and finding creative means to use them. I _like_ P&W, and some can be appropriate for liturgy–especially insofar as it corresponds to the exact same texts of the Gradual–but this approach is in danger of a zietgeist theology, which is only as powerful as the generation it is preaching to. #StopEverythingAndRead
